Lush backyard in Kadima
Transforming a 150m² garden into a thriving edible landscape with seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruit.
In 2021, we embarked on a transformative project at a 150m² garden in Kadima. The space initially featured a traditional grass lawn, over-pruned perennials, and mature fruit trees lining the edges.
Although the garden had a solid foundation, it suffered from a combination of excessive maintenance, neglect in other areas, and overcrowding.
Our client envisioned a garden that not only looked beautiful but also produced an abundance of edible plants, including seasonal vegetables. After discussing their goals, we agreed that the first step was to remove the lawn and enrich the soil.
We stripped away the turf and replaced it with a thriving vegetable garden, planted herbs and fruit bushes, pruned the fruit trees to promote healthy growth, installed a large composter, and mulched the entire area with wood chips.
Fast forward to 2025, and the garden is now a lush, thriving ecosystem. The client enjoys a bountiful harvest of seasonal vegetables, herbs, and fruit, while the garden has become a haven for butterflies, birds, and beneficial insects. We continue to maintain and refine the space, adapting it to the client’s evolving needs and the changing climate.
